Preston Miller (Integrity Auto Service): Happy Test Drive Tuesday, everybody! We are test-driving today a 2013 Ford F-150 Platinum — crew cab, four-wheel-drive.

Dontay: This is nice. It definitely looks newer, too.

Preston: It’s just got all the options, being a Platinum. It is a four-wheel-drive, crew cab, EcoBoost truck. EcoBoost is your V6 twin turbo — a whole bunch of power, good fuel mileage, really reliable, dependable.

Fully Loaded

Preston: It’s got a big touchscreen — all kinds of tech loaded into that thing. It’s got your phone integration; you can hook your phone up to it. Navigation. Entertainment that has all of your satellite radio, all that stuff. You can plug your phone in, play your music off your phone, get your phone calls from your phone with the sync system.

Dontay: It’s even got the heated and cooled seats on the screen.

Preston: Yeah, the front seats are heated and cooled. Your back seats are heated in this truck, being a Platinum.

Dontay: They’ve got a lot of room back there, too!

Preston: Whole bunch of leg room; room for the whole family. Nice, dark tinted windows.

Dontay: I see that adapter in the back; it’s got the 12V adapter — basically a wall outlet in the back!

Preston: You could charge your phone, laptop, whatever you need to.

Dontay: Or a tablet for the kids.

Preston: It’s got a rear sliding back window. All power windows and locks — all that stuff, of course, is standard on one of these trucks. It’s got a really nice brushed aluminum and woodgrain trim interior. Super, super classy.

Dontay: It’s got a little sporty style to it, too.

Preston: It’s hard to tell on the pictures and the video, but this truck a metallic charcoal color, so it’s really between a dark charcoal gray and a black. But if you get in the right light, you can see the metal flake in the paint.

Factory 20″ wheels, all-terrain tires. It’s got automatic step rails — you open the doors, the step rails fold out for you. You get in, and they fold back up.

Dontay: I saw the nice hard top on the bedcover, as well, back there. It was nice.

Preston: Factory trailer brakes. You know, these EcoBoost trucks aren’t really made to pull that big of a load, being a V6, but they can pull a utility trailer or even a smaller car hauler. So to have a factory trailer brake setup is pretty awesome on this truck.

Dontay: Makes it look better on gas, too. I see the Sony System in here, as well, with tweeters on the top.

Preston: It’s got the Sony stereo — sounds really good. I think this one does have the subwoofer under the backseat; it’s got tweeters, speakers all over the place.

All of your steering wheel control is right here, so you can control pretty much everything in the truck right here at your fingertips. Makes it a little more convenient and comfortable. Power seats, power pedals — it’s got it all.

4WD Crew Cab for All Weather Conditions

Preston: And best of all, it’s a four-wheel-drive crew cab. So if you need something to go off-road, or if you just want to have the peace of mind — you know, winter’s coming up and you don’t to get stuck whenever it snows a foot or two or you got ice all over the roads — this thing will get you where you need to go no matter what the weather conditions are.

Dontay: In Oklahoma, ain’t nothing wrong with that!

Preston: It might snow tomorrow, and then it’ll be 80º the next day — it’s just the way it is here.

Dontay: Man, this is nice. Smooth ride, too!

Preston: Comfortable, ice-cold air. It’s not real hot outside today, but this air is just freezing us out here. Got the cool seats on, feels good. It’s an essential thing to have when you got black leather. You know, you get up in the morning and hit your remote start — turn your heated seats on in the winter, and, by the time you get in the truck, the truck is warmed up, the seats are warm. You know, it’s got all that going on.

Dontay: Heck, yeah. I like this bad boy, right here.
